Frequently asked questions
Is ResizeMe free?
Yes. ResizeMe is available through winget on Windows, Homebrew on macOS, and GitHub Releases for manual downloads.
Does ResizeMe work on macOS and Windows?
Yes. The project ships builds for both platforms.
Are preset sizes pixels or points?
Windows applies preset dimensions as physical pixels, while macOS applies them as logical points. For example, a 1280 × 720 preset on a 2x Retina display can occupy 2560 × 1440 physical pixels.
Shared settings.json presets keep the same numeric width and height fields, so they remain compatible but do not guarantee the same physical size across platforms. A pixel-aware macOS mode is not currently planned because Accessibility sizing is point-based and a physical-pixel conversion would need an explicit, display-aware design.
